What Changes in Secondary School?

The most visible change is quantity: more subjects, more books, more deadlines. The deeper change is fragmentation. The qualification continues to be jointly examined and awarded by SEAB, MOE and Cambridge International Education.

For students graduating in 2026, the current GCE examination arrangements remain relevant. For students graduating from 2027, SEC terminology and the corresponding subject-level syllabuses apply. The examination name changes; the educational work remains recognisable: build valid knowledge, reason accurately, communicate clearly and perform under the real conditions of assessment.

Secondary 1: The Learning Reset

Diagnosis should protect the student’s dignity. It should neither excuse every difficulty nor turn a temporary state into an identity. A useful diagnosis produces a next action and a way to test whether that action worked.
