BCA describes Fernvale Palms as an HDB development of four residential blocks and credits AGA Architects. It lists the project under Universal Design Mark Certified.
That is a recognition milestone, not a claim that the estate first opened in 2014. The project profile is useful because it explains the thinking behind the spaces, rather than merely supplying a year.
The profile describes sheltered access routes spreading from the central multi-storey car park, seating areas, and centrally located barrier-free communal facilities. It also places the development among precincts sharing a neighbourhood playground.
Our interpretation is that these details connect different parts of everyday life: arriving, walking, resting and playing. A useful place is not only a collection of facilities; people also need a manageable way to move between them.
