Planning to study at Sengkang Public Library? Check the seat-booking system before making the journey. An empty-looking chair is not enough to tell you whether a bookable seat is available.
NLB’s Sengkang library Social Story identifies a seat-booking table on Level 3 and says visitors must reserve a seat there for their own work or reading. Follow the current booking system and signs for the date and session you want.
Once you have a suitable place, keep the study plan small and clear. A focused task is much easier to finish than a bag of books with no starting point.

Check availability before leaving
Open the official NLB seat-booking system and check the Sengkang option, available dates and times. Use the instructions shown there for the current booking conditions.
Read the confirmation carefully. Note the library, seat or area, session time and any arrival or check-in instructions. Keep that information accessible when you arrive.
If nothing suitable is available, choose another time or another study arrangement. Avoid building an important revision session around the hope that someone else’s booked place will remain empty.
Arrive with the booking details ready
Use the library’s current signs to locate your booked area. NLB’s Social Story is a useful orientation guide, but the live booking information and on-site directions should guide your visit.
If the seat number or reservation is unclear, ask library staff for help. It is easier to resolve a misunderstanding calmly before unpacking your materials.
A booking is for the place and period specified. Follow the current instructions for arrival, cancellation and departure rather than assuming rules remembered from an earlier visit still apply.
Bring one manageable study task
Decide what you want to finish before leaving home: review one set of corrections, practise one type of question, or read a chapter and make a short summary.
Bring the materials that support that task. Too many alternatives make it easy to spend the session deciding what to do instead of doing it.
For a parent helping a child plan, ask the child to name the first action. “Open the corrections page and explain the first mistake” is clearer than “study English”.
Leave the shared space ready for others
NLB’s library guidance asks visitors to keep voices low and handle books carefully. Choose independent work that suits a quiet shared setting, and save longer conversations for an appropriate place outside the reading area.
Finish with a brief note of what you completed and what remains. Pack up in time to follow the booking’s end conditions and leave the area clear.
If the session becomes a borrowing visit instead, our Sengkang library reservation guide explains a different way to plan ahead.
