NLB identifies Sagu Rumbia as the source of the station name. That gives us a specific historical explanation, rather than a guess based on how the word sounds.
A useful distinction follows: the name remembers a plant, but it does not prove that the station stands on the exact site of a particular grove. Place-name evidence and precise site evidence are different things.
The interesting contrast is between a name drawn from a wet landscape and its present use as a transport destination. Our interpretation is that an ordinary journey can carry a small reminder of an older environment.
Ask a child what they expected the name to mean before looking it up. Then compare that first impression with the documented explanation. The exercise turns a familiar station label into a lesson about checking evidence.
