Compassvale Bus Interchange has had more than one chapter: it began operating in March 2017, closed in December 2024 and took on a temporary supporting role in 2026. The latest notice, checked on 12 October 2026, schedules five services to return to Sengkang Interchange on 31 October.

SBS Transit’s 2017 annual report records Compassvale Bus Interchange beginning operations in March to accommodate more services serving Sengkang. A contemporary service notice dates the launch of Service 374 from the new interchange to 12 March 2017.
That notice connected the service with Sengkang MRT and amenities including the sports complex and Compass One. Read it as evidence of the network at that time, not as today’s complete route instructions. The interchange and its bus services were parts of the same connectivity story, but they were not identical things.
SBS Transit’s notice for the opening of Buangkok Bus Interchange on 1 December 2024 announced Compassvale’s closure at the same time. It also moved Service 374’s starting point to Sengkang Bus Interchange.
The notice called the closure permanent. Later developments show why even that wording needs its source date attached: it accurately records the announced decision then, but cannot by itself explain a subsequent temporary reuse. Our Buangkok Bus Interchange guide provides context for the other facility; do not confuse the two locations.

3. A supporting role from January 2026
An LTA-issued notice on SBS Transit’s website set out temporary relocation of Services 80, 86, 87, 372 and 374 to adjacent Compassvale from 31 January 2026. The purpose was to free more space for works within Sengkang Bus Interchange.
The notice described progressive upgrades including concourse refurbishment and driveway waterproofing. Compassvale’s reuse therefore belonged to an upgrade programme, not simply a reversal of the 2017 opening story. It illustrates how an existing facility can support another one while work proceeds. A map of the two interchanges makes that relationship easier to understand.

4. What the latest October notice says
On 7 October 2026, SBS Transit announced that the five services would resume operating from Sengkang Bus Interchange on 31 October, with updated boarding berths. At this article’s 12 October check, that change is still upcoming—not something already completed.
Before travelling, check the operator’s current route and berth information. For a family transport-history activity, compare the 2017, 2024 and 2026 notices: identify what opened, what closed and what was temporarily relocated. Observe only from permitted passenger areas, staying clear of driveways. The discovery is how a place’s role can change even when its name remains familiar.
