Buangkok Bus Interchange opened on 1 December 2024 as part of an integrated transport hub connecting the MRT station with Sengkang Grand Mall. Its opening also changed the role of other bus interchanges in Sengkang.

LTA announced a 1 December 2024 opening, and its 2024/25 annual report records that date as the completed opening milestone. The new interchange became Singapore’s twelfth integrated transport hub.
The historical point is the connection between facilities. An interchange provides bus boarding and alighting; an integrated hub links that function with rail and surrounding amenities.
The opening announcement specified Services 110, 114 and 156 as the first three services, while stating that the interchange could accommodate seven services.
These numbers answer different questions. Three described the opening service pattern; seven described capacity for later additions. Neither should be used as an unchecked count of routes operating today.
The announcement placed Service 110’s move from Compassvale and Service 156’s move from Sengkang within the opening arrangements. Compassvale Interchange would cease operations, with Service 374 moving to Sengkang.
Our interpretation is that this was a network change rather than simply an extra building. A new hub can reorganise familiar starting points. That is why an old bus memory may be accurate for one period and unsuitable for planning a journey now.
On a planned journey, look at how the signs distinguish bus berths, MRT access and mall entrances. Ask which signs someone making their first visit would need most.
Use current operator information to choose a service and confirm its route. The opening-stage service list above documents 2024; it is not a present-day route guide. Keep observation activities clear of queues and boarding areas.
