C2-Direction Review and Expert Communication | C2 方向复习与专家沟通

Expert communication is not simply difficult English. It is unusually stable control over meaning, evidence, audience, nuance, structure and repair.

This lesson consolidates the C2-direction system developed through Lessons 085–091. It is a performance checkpoint, not formal certification.

这一课检查的是:面对陌生领域、冲突证据、不同受众和实时质疑时,能不能继续保持高度精确、清晰、可修复的英语。

  • evidence literacy
  • cross-disciplinary synthesis
  • figurative precision
  • audience adaptation
  • register switching
  • pragmatic nuance
  • advanced editing
  • real-time reformulation
  • independent judgement

1. Performance before labels | 表现优先

Ask:

Can the learner preserve precision while the content, audience and evidence all change?

2. C2-direction does not mean perfect | C2 方向不等于零错误

High-level users still make errors. The difference is that errors are usually local, noticed, repairable and do not destabilise the whole message.

3. Semantic precision checkpoint | 语义精度检查

Can you distinguish and use appropriately:

  • possible / plausible / probable / likely
  • effect / impact / consequence / outcome
  • claim / argument / finding / inference
  • issue / problem / concern / risk

Can you choose natural combinations without translating word-by-word?

  • compelling evidence
  • draw a distinction
  • raise a concern
  • account for a difference
  • reach a conclusion

5. Lexical restraint checkpoint | 词汇克制

Can you choose a common word when it is more exact than a rare one?

6. Evidence-literacy checkpoint | 证据素养检查

Can you identify:

  • shared question
  • different definitions
  • different methods
  • different scale
  • transferable mechanism
  • non-transferable features

11. Avoid false equivalence | 避免错误等同

Similar words or patterns across fields do not guarantee the same mechanism.

12. Figurative-language checkpoint | 修辞语言检查

Can you use metaphor or analogy to clarify without importing false relationships?

13. State analogy limits | 说出类比边界

This comparison helps explain X, but it does not imply Y.

14. Return to literal mechanism | 回到字面机制

After a figurative explanation, can you state the actual process directly?

Can you explain the same evidence to:

  1. a young learner
  2. a general adult audience
  3. a manager
  4. a specialist

16. Meaning stability across audiences | 跨受众意思稳定

Terminology may change. The evidence and core proposition must not.

17. Register checkpoint | 语体检查

Can you switch smoothly among:

  • informal
  • neutral
  • professional
  • formal
  • technical
  • public-facing

18. Formality is not heaviness | 正式不等于沉重

Clear professional English often uses direct verbs and ordinary vocabulary.

19. Pragmatic checkpoint | 语用检查

Can you interpret:

  • indirect refusal
  • understatement
  • polite disagreement
  • possible irony
  • backchannels
  • reformulation

20. Inference calibration | 推断校准

Can you assign high, medium or low confidence to an interpretation and explain why?

21. Do not mind-read | 不读心

Describe the communicative effect before inferring motive.

22. Real-time reformulation | 实时改写

Can you respond immediately with:

  • simpler wording
  • more technical wording
  • narrower claim
  • different analogy
  • different evidence order

23. Repair language | 修复语言

  • Let me be more precise.
  • That’s too broad; I mean…
  • Let me separate two issues.
  • I’d qualify that point.

24. Discussion under challenge | 质疑下讨论

Can you remain accurate when someone:

  • changes the criterion
  • questions your source
  • offers counterevidence
  • asks for a simpler explanation

25. Expert disagreement | 专家式分歧

Name the level of disagreement:

  • definition
  • premise
  • method
  • evidence
  • inference
  • scope
  • value criterion

26. Mediation checkpoint | 调解表达检查

Summarise each paragraph’s job in one line after drafting.

31. Editing checkpoint | 编辑检查

Can you improve a strong draft without rewriting it unnecessarily?

32. Meaning-first edit | 先意义

Order:

  1. meaning
  2. evidence
  3. stance
  4. source
  5. structure
  6. register
  7. lexis
  8. rhythm
  9. surface

33. Change budget | 修改预算

Can every major edit justify itself?

34. Source-preserving edit | 来源保持

Can you improve style without changing source certainty or ownership?

35. Public communication checkpoint | 公众沟通检查

Can you simplify technical evidence without hiding limitations?

36. Executive communication checkpoint | 决策沟通检查

Can you compress a complex issue into:

  • decision
  • evidence
  • risk
  • options
  • next action

37. Technical communication checkpoint | 技术沟通检查

Can you expand the same issue into method, assumptions, uncertainty and limitations?

38. Same core, different packaging | 同核心,不同包装

Expert communication changes packaging, not truth conditions.

39. Cross-domain transfer | 跨领域迁移

Can you perform on a topic outside your strongest domain?

40. Domain humility | 领域谦逊

Can you use advanced bundles naturally without sounding templated?

  • Taken together…
  • The extent to which…
  • One possible explanation is…
  • In the absence of…
  • What remains unclear is…

47. Phraseology restraint | 语块克制

Use a phrase because its function is needed, not because it sounds academic.

48. Stylistic range | 风格范围

Can you deliberately choose:

  • plain explanation
  • analytical prose
  • narrative illustration
  • technical briefing
  • public explanation

49. Style without imitation | 风格不等于模仿

High-level writing should be controlled and original rather than copied from a distinctive individual voice.

50. Compression checkpoint | 压缩检查

Can you reduce 1,000 words to 200 while preserving the argument architecture?

51. Expansion checkpoint | 展开检查

Can you expand a 100-word summary into a full explanation without inventing evidence?

Identify five indirect or nuanced remarks from a discussion and assign confidence levels.

  • Amber: high quality with preparation, slower repair under pressure.
  • Red: source, meaning or audience control breaks.

69. Maintenance matters | 维持比继续堆知识更重要

At this stage, development increasingly comes from breadth, transfer and deliberate practice rather than collecting more isolated grammar.

70. Expert maintenance cycle | 专家维持循环

Day 2expert listening专家听力
Day 3cross-domain synthesis跨域综合
Day 4audience switching受众切换
Day 5long writing长写作

71. Self-test | 自测

Can you preserve semantic precision, evidence, source ownership and pragmatic nuance while switching domains, audiences and registers under time pressure?

72. For parents and teachers | 给家长和老师

At this stage, stop using “more difficult vocabulary” as the main growth metric.

Measure transfer, repair, audience adaptation, source control and semantic precision.

For Mandarin speakers, evaluate whether high-level English is processed directly and flexibly rather than rebuilt through translation.
