Did you know that Fernvale Plains was announced with 207 Community Care Apartments in October 2025? HDB identified it as Singapore’s fifth project offering that housing concept.
Fernvale Plains history is a recent chapter in Sengkang’s housing development. The launch material described a mix of homes and shared spaces intended to serve different stages of life.
This guide explains the original announcement, keeps its planned facilities separate from confirmed openings and shows why several different totals can appear in the same project’s records.

Three short chapters
HDB’s launch release dated 14 October 2025 included Fernvale Plains in that month’s BTO exercise. A preceding 11 October project preview described five residential blocks between Fernvale Drive, Fernvale Link and Fernvale Street.
The preview identified 830 two-room Flexi, four-room and five-room flats, alongside 207 Community Care Apartments. It also described a rental block.
These are launch-stage descriptions. This article does not infer that the buildings or planned facilities were completed by the date of writing.
HDB described Community Care Apartments as combining senior-friendly housing with customised care services, social activities and communal spaces. That describes the concept in the announcement, not an assessment of any person’s care needs.
The preview also proposed gardens, play and exercise facilities and a preschool. Read those as planned elements of the development at that time.
For a family discussion, ask what a neighbourhood needs when people have different daily routines. A place for play, a place to rest and a route between destinations serve different purposes.
This is an interpretation activity. It does not require guessing how future residents will live or whether every person will use the same facilities.
Adding 830 and 207 gives 1,037. That combines the two categories in the preview, but it should not automatically be called every dwelling in the development because rental provision is separately described.
A good caption states exactly what its total includes. A broader total needs the detailed project schedule and its category definitions.
Try an invented classroom example with two lists of participants and a third separately listed group. Before adding, check whether the groups overlap and whether any group has been omitted.
Keep launch figures, construction updates and present-day observations on separate lines in a timeline. Each can contribute to Fernvale Plains’ story without being asked to prove something it does not establish.
