Seletar West Park Connector is a nearby Seletar outing to consider when you want to explore beyond Sengkang. NParks lists the connector at 4.6km, running between Rower’s Bay and Piccadilly Circus as part of the Round Island Route.
Its official guide identifies two rest nodes: Heritage Trees and Jalan Kayu Guardhouse. Choose a section that fits your time and return plan; the published connector length is not automatically the distance of your own trip.
The appeal is a mix of movement and observation. You can pause to read interpretative signs instead of treating the entire visit as a march towards the endpoint.

Plan your start and finish separately
Locate both ends on the official map, then decide where you will actually join the connector. Add your access journey and any return section when estimating the outing.
A one-way walk needs a workable journey home from the finish. An out-and-back walk needs a turnaround point. Choose between them before setting off, rather than deciding only after reaching somewhere unfamiliar.
Connections through the wider Round Island Route are possibilities to investigate, not a reason to assume every destination mentioned in the network is a short distance away.
Pause at the two identified nodes
NParks identifies three heritage Swietenia macrophylla trees at the Heritage Trees Node. Look at their form from the established route and read any interpretation available on your visit.
At the Jalan Kayu Guardhouse node, the official page lists a shelter, drinking fountain, toilet and food-and-beverage vending machines. Check current notices and availability before making those facilities essential to the trip.
Bring your own drinking water even when a fountain is listed. A facility can be part of the plan without becoming the only thing that makes the plan workable.
Read the landscape as you move
The connector page describes interpretative signboards about the Seletar Aerospace area and views of Seletar Airport. These give the walk a subject beyond distance alone.
With children, choose one sign to read together. Ask them to explain a detail in their own words, then look for something in the surrounding scene that connects with it.
A view of an airport is not a promise of a scheduled aircraft sighting. Enjoy what is visible on the day and keep observation within public permitted areas.
Choose a manageable extension
NParks lists the connector as wheelchair accessible. If that matters to your visit, check the complete access and return journey as well; the connector label does not verify every approach or transport arrangement.
The official guide also points to nearby Hampstead Wetlands Park. Treat it as a separate destination with its own visitor information rather than an automatic addition to an already full outing.
For a Sengkang-based alternative, read our Punggol Park Connector guide. Decide which setting suits the day, check the forecast and leave yourself a clear route home.
