Punggol Park Connector | Sengkang Walking Route, Wetland and Riverside Guide

Punggol Park Connector is a 6.1km route between Gerald Drive and Punggol Promenade, following Punggol Reservoir and the Straits of Johor. Despite its name, it is useful for Sengkang outings too: NParks identifies connections around Anchorvale Community Club, Sengkang Sports Complex and Sengkang Floating Wetland.

For a walk from Sengkang, choose the part of Punggol Park Connector that matches your starting point and available time. The official 6.1km figure is the connector’s listed length, not the distance of every possible outing and not a round-trip total.

Did you know that a connector can be a destination in its own right? You can enjoy a waterside section, stop to look at the landscape and return without attempting the full network. This guide helps you read the route correctly and organise a manageable visit.

Read the route before choosing the walk

Open the official NParks page and its directions link. Identify the entrance you intend to use and the point where you will turn back or leave the route.

Distinguish Punggol Park Connector from Punggol Park, Punggol Waterway and Punggol Promenade. Similar names describe different places or connections, and that distinction matters when arranging transport.

If your group arrives separately, agree on one mapped meeting point. A broad instruction to meet ‘at Punggol PC’ leaves too much of a long route unspecified.

Start with the Sengkang section

A suggested first outing is to focus on the Anchorvale and wetland area, then return by the route you have checked. This is an editorial suggestion, not an official named trail or a measured circuit.

Our Sengkang Riverside Park guide provides another way to understand this part of the landscape. Select one main destination before adding an extension.

For families, include pauses in the plan. Time spent looking at water or talking together is part of the outing, even when the distance covered is small.

Enjoy the route as a shared space

Expect other people to use the connector for their own journeys. Keep stops and group conversations clear of the main movement space, especially when taking photographs.

If cycling with beginners, agree on regrouping points and choose a section they can handle comfortably. A connector’s total length does not tell you how demanding the complete door-to-door journey will feel.

NParks lists wheelchair accessibility for the connector. Check the approach from your transport stop and any current diversions separately; those are part of the practical journey too.

Plan the return before extending

An out-and-back visit includes the distance back to the start. If you continue further than intended, check the new exit and transport options before the group becomes tired.

Consult our cycling in Sengkang guide for a wider network overview, keeping the connector and the larger loop distinct.

Use current NParks notices and the route map on the travel day. Bring water, check weather and keep a shorter option available. You can explore another section on the next visit.
