Can library books be delivered to a Sengkang home? NLB’s Borrow-n-Deliver service offers islandwide delivery of eligible available library items. Its current published fee is $8.72 including GST for an order of up to four items.
You must be an NLB member with no unpaid account charges and enough remaining loan quota. The service selects available items, not titles already on loan, so it is different from joining a reservation queue.
Delivery can be useful when a library trip is difficult, but it still needs a reading and return plan. Check the current terms before ordering.

Choose titles that fit the order
Begin with the reading you actually want to do. A small selection that someone is eager to open can be more useful than filling the order with books chosen only to reach its maximum.
Check the author, language, format and edition in the catalogue. For a family, give each reader a chance to suggest something rather than making the entire order an adult’s improvement list.
Use the Borrow-n-Deliver option provided by NLB for eligible items. Read the current checkout details before proceeding.
Make delivery practical for the household
Check your delivery address and contact information carefully before placing the order. Think about how receiving the package fits the household’s routine.
NLB’s terms indicate typical delivery within seven to eight working days. Do not treat it as a same-day solution for an assignment or promise a child that a title will arrive tomorrow.
Read fulfilment choices and payment conditions in full. Where the service offers a choice, decide whether receiving only part of the requested selection would still meet your purpose.
Plan the return before the package arrives
NLB states that Borrow-n-Deliver does not include a return service. You must return the borrowed items through its public-library Bookdrops before their due dates.
Check the precise due dates in your account after delivery rather than calculating them from memory. Put a household reminder somewhere the person responsible will see it.
A convenient arrival should not create an inconvenient departure. Decide which return trip or errand will work before ordering more than you can manage.
Use the books in a comfortable routine
Give the new selection a visible place at home and choose a manageable moment to start. A few pages together can be enough for the first sitting.
Let a child explain what attracted them to a book. A delivery package can become a small reading occasion without requiring a worksheet or immediate review.
If you prefer collecting a wanted title yourself, see our library reservation guide. Choose the service that fits the book, time and household arrangement.
