Buangkok MRT station (NE15) is a North East Line stop beside the Buangkok integrated transport hub. It is the rail starting point for a visit to Sengkang Grand Mall or a transfer to Buangkok Bus Interchange. Use the exact destination when planning: Buangkok MRT, Buangkok Square and Sengkang MRT are different places.
Buangkok sits between Hougang and Sengkang on the North East Line. SBS Transit lists street-level bus stops, taxi stands and lifts at Exits A and B, with another lift between the concourse and platform. For the mall or interchange, follow the current connection signs rather than relying on a remembered exit letter.
Did you know that the name Sengkang Grand Mall can confuse a first-time visitor arriving by rail? The integrated hub is connected with Buangkok MRT. This eduKateSengkang guide helps you arrive at the right station, make a clear connection and enjoy a relaxed local outing.

Find the right Buangkok destination
Start by saving the name and map pin of the place you need. ‘Buangkok’ is a neighbourhood name as well as a station name, so a search result may point to a different part of the area.
If someone suggests meeting at Sengkang Grand Mall, confirm the entrance or shop as well as the station. A shared landmark is more useful than a broad instruction to meet ‘near the MRT’.
Our Buangkok Square guide covers that separate shopping destination. Do not treat its name as another label for the mall at the transport hub.
Use the station exits and lifts
The operator’s station page lists lifts at both A and B. It also lists public toilets at street level near Exit A. Check the station signs for the route from your platform and ask staff if you need help.
If a family member has limited mobility, plan the complete route through to the final entrance. A lift at the MRT is one part of that journey; any onward crossing or building access needs checking too.
For a pickup, agree on a designated point and communicate the exact location. Avoid trying to arrange a roadside stop from a vague description after everyone has already arrived.
Connect with the mall and bus interchange
LTA identifies Buangkok Bus Interchange, Sengkang Grand Mall and Buangkok MRT as an integrated transport hub. That relationship is the useful starting point: rail, buses and shopping are brought together, but they still have distinct entrances and boarding areas.
After leaving the train, follow signs for the connection you need. If you are taking a bus, check the service number and boarding berth before stopping for food. It is much easier to relax once you know where to return.
See our Sengkang Grand Mall guide for a separate look at the visit itself. Shop hours and individual services should be checked with the relevant business.
Plan a gentle afternoon around the station
A suggested outing is to arrive by rail, have a meal and complete one errand before heading home. Leave extra activities optional, especially when a child has already had a long school day.
For an independent teenager learning the route, practise one journey together first. Ask them to identify the station code, direction, exit and return meeting point. Real confidence comes from understanding those decisions.
Check the operator’s current first and last train information for your travel day. For a late outing, work backwards from the return journey instead of assuming there will always be another connection.
