How Primary and Secondary School Works in Singapore? A Parents’ Guide | The Voyage Series

A practical guide to Primary 1 through Secondary 4, PSLE, Full Subject-Based Banding, G1/G2/G3, subject choices, the SEC and what parents should actually watch as their child grows


The Short Version for Parents

Singapore school can look complicated.

There are:

Primary 1 to Primary 6.

Standard and Foundation subjects.

PSLE.

Achievement Levels.

Posting Groups.

Secondary 1 to Secondary 4.

G1, G2 and G3 subjects.

Subject combinations.

Additional Mathematics.

Different Sciences.

CCAs.

And, from 2027, the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate.

It is easy to see all of this as a collection of gates.

But there is a much simpler way to understand the system.

Your child is travelling through a sequence in which the amount of capability, independence, specialisation and choice gradually increases.

A simplified map is:

The examination matters.

But the examination is not the whole journey.

The more useful parent question at every stage is:

What should my child be increasingly able to do now that they could not reliably do before?

That is how we will read the Singapore education system in this guide.


School Is Not One Long Examination

A seven-year-old and a sixteen-year-old are not doing the same job at different difficulty settings.

The nature of learning changes.

A younger child needs to acquire the basic tools with which school itself becomes possible:

language,

number,

attention,

memory,

comparison,

routines,

social participation,

self-control,

and the ability to receive instruction.

Later, those tools must become usable.

Then transferable.

Then increasingly independent.

Then capable of supporting specialisation.

So the deeper progression looks something like:

APPLY
TRANSFER
CHOOSE
CHECK
WORK INDEPENDENTLY

The Voyage Series was built around exactly this idea: the subjects remain distinct, but the learner becomes increasingly capable of moving through the same world using stronger instruments. Our underlying collection architecture treats Mathematics as structure and reliable transformation, Science as observation and evidence, and English as meaning and communication.

That gives parents a much better map than:

Primary 3 is harder than Primary 2.

It is not merely harder.

It asks the child to operate differently.


Why Singapore Has Different School Stages

Each major stage solves a different educational problem.

Primary 1–2

Can the child enter the learning system confidently?

Primary 3–4

Can the child use increasingly specialised subject tools?

Primary 5–6

Can the child integrate knowledge and operate when the answer is less obvious?

Secondary 1–2

Can the learner handle greater abstraction, independence and a broader disciplinary world?

Secondary 3–4

Which subjects, levels and routes now fit the learner’s strengths, interests and next destination?

Seen this way, stages are not arbitrary birthdays attached to textbooks.

They are different operating environments.


Primary 1 and Primary 2: Building the Instruments

For many parents, the first instinct is:

How far ahead is my child?

A more important early question is:

Are the basic instruments becoming reliable?

At P1–P2, the learner is building foundations in areas such as:

reading,

listening,

speaking,

basic writing,

number sense,

calculation,

comparison,

pattern recognition,

measurement,

following instructions,

learning routines,

and social participation.

MOE has deliberately reduced formal assessment pressure at this stage. Weighted assessments and examinations for Primary 1 and Primary 2 were removed from 2019, and mid-year examinations have been removed across primary and secondary levels as part of the wider reduction in assessment load. That does not mean P1 and P2 do not matter.

It means their job is larger than producing examination scores.


The Lower-Primary Question Is: “Can the Child Learn?”

Consider English.

At P1, the important movement may be:

SEE

In Mathematics:

NOTICE QUANTITY
COUNT
COMPARE
REPRESENT
OPERATE

And although formal Primary Science begins later, children can already develop scientific habits such as:

observe,

compare,

sort,

predict,

ask questions,

and notice change.

Our Voyage architecture deliberately treats P1–P2 as a shared broad harbour before the disciplines become more specialised.

For parents, this means an apparent weakness such as:

careless Maths

may actually be:

poor number sense,

weak reading of instructions,

low working control,

or rushed execution.

Likewise:

weak English

may involve different problems:

vocabulary,

decoding,

sentence construction,

attention,

comprehension,

or reluctance to speak.

Good support begins by identifying which capability is weak, not attaching a global label to the child.


Primary 3: The Subjects Become Sharper

Primary 3 is a significant transition.

Science formally enters the primary curriculum.

English passages become more demanding.

Mathematics requires stronger representations and more coordinated relationships.

The learner now has more specialised tools.

A simplified picture is:

English

From:

What happened?

What can I infer from the clues?

Mathematics

Can I calculate?

Can I represent the relationship correctly?

Science

From:

What do I notice?

towards:

Which scientific concept explains or classifies what I observe?

The school system has not abandoned the foundations.

It is beginning to use them.


Primary 4: The First Important Routing Year

P4 is often underestimated.

Parents naturally focus on P6 because of PSLE.

But P4 is an important transition point because the child is approaching Primary Subject-Based Banding.

Under Primary SBB, students can take a mixture of Standard and Foundation subjects in Primary 5 and Primary 6 according to their strengths and learning needs. At the end of Primary 4, schools recommend subject combinations; families indicate their preferred combination, and schools can review the child’s ability to cope again after Primary 5. This is an important principle.

The system is beginning to say:

A child does not have to have exactly the same learning aperture in every subject.

That idea becomes much more developed later under Full Subject-Based Banding in Secondary school.


Standard and Foundation Are Subject Decisions, Not Child Identities

This distinction is extremely important for parents.

A learner may need a different level of support in Mathematics while remaining stronger in English.

Or the reverse.

So avoid converting:

Foundation Mathematics

into:

foundation child.

The label belongs to the subject route.

Not the human being.

The purpose of Primary SBB is to give students room to stretch in stronger subjects while building understanding in subjects where they need more support. (Kuo Chuan Presbyterian Primary School)

That is how parents should read it too.

Ask:

Which subject needs which level of support?

Not:

What category is my child?


Primary 5: The Integration Stage Begins

At P5, individual topics increasingly start interacting.

This is particularly visible in the three Voyage subjects.

English

The learner increasingly compares information, perspectives and evidence.

Mathematics

Fractions, decimals, percentages, rates, volume and multi-step problems begin to connect.

Science

Variables, mechanisms, systems and evidence increasingly need to be coordinated.

This is why some children appear to “suddenly become weaker” around P5.

Often they have not lost intelligence.

The task architecture changed.

A learner who could succeed through:

recognise chapter → remember method → execute

may now need:

interpret → select information → choose representation → choose method → execute → check.

That is a substantially larger operation.


Primary 6: The Primary System Comes Together

P6 is not simply:

revision year.

It is the final integration point of Primary school.

By now the child has accumulated years of:

English,

Mathematics,

Science,

Mother Tongue,

general school experience,

routines,

error correction,

tests,

feedback,

and increasing independence.

The central challenge becomes:

Can these capabilities work together when the surface is unfamiliar?

In English, this may mean integrating several clues before answering.

In Mathematics, it may mean recognising that a problem combines percentage, ratio and algebra.

In Science, it may mean applying several concepts to an unfamiliar experiment or environmental system.

That is why PSLE preparation should eventually move beyond:

Do another worksheet.

The child must learn to recognise what kind of problem has appeared.


What PSLE Actually Does

The Primary School Leaving Examination is a national examination at the end of Primary school and functions as a placement exercise for Secondary education.

SEAB states that the PSLE Score is derived from the sum of the subject scores and ranges from 4 to 32. (SEAB)

For Standard subjects, each subject receives an Achievement Level from AL1 to AL8, with AL1 representing the highest achievement band. Foundation subjects use their corresponding Foundation grading structure. (AskGov)

So a parent can think of PSLE as:

YEARS OF PRIMARY LEARNING
P6 INTEGRATION
PSLE
SECONDARY PLACEMENT

It is important.

But it is a junction, not a definition of the child.


Why the Achievement-Level System Matters

The AL scoring system replaced the old T-score model from 2021.

MOE’s stated direction was to reduce overly fine differentiation between children at a young age by using broader achievement bands rather than ranking every small mark difference against the cohort. (Education Conversations)

This matters for parent behaviour too.

A difference of one raw mark does not automatically represent a fundamentally different learner.

What matters more educationally is:

Which capability is secure?

Which is unstable?

Which still collapses under unfamiliar conditions?

Which subject requires repair?

That is much more actionable than treating every mark as an identity signal.


PSLE Is Not the Finish Line

The child who leaves P6 needs more than a score.

They are entering:

a larger school,

new teachers,

new peers,

new subjects,

new schedules,

CCAs,

adolescence,

more independent learning,

and much more abstract work.

MOE explicitly notes that the Primary-to-Secondary transition includes a new environment, new friends, a new syllabus and a new phase of life; subject choice also broadens, particularly later in Secondary school. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

So there are really two P6 questions:

Where will my child be posted?

and:

Is my child ready to operate in Secondary school?

They are related.

They are not identical.


Secondary School Has Changed: Understand Full Subject-Based Banding

This is one of the biggest areas of parent confusion.

Singapore’s mainstream Secondary school system is no longer organised around separate Express, Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) streams in the old way.

Full Subject-Based Banding has been fully implemented in Secondary schools since 2024. (Education Conversations)

Students are admitted through Posting Groups 1, 2 and 3.

But Posting Groups are principally used for Secondary 1 admission and to guide the initial level at which most subjects are taken.

They are not intended to become permanent labels attached to every subject the learner takes. Current school guidance implementing MOE’s Full SBB framework states explicitly that Posting Groups are used for admission and to guide initial subject levels, while students can take subjects at G1, G2 or G3 according to strengths, interests and learning needs. This distinction is fundamental.


Posting Group Is Not the Same as Subject Level

Think of it this way.

PSLE
POSTING GROUP
helps enter secondary school
and sets an initial learning aperture

INDIVIDUAL SUBJECTS
may be offered at G1 / G2 / G3
according to the learner's profile

Therefore:

Posting Group 2

does not mean:

“This is a G2 child.”

The child may have different strengths across different subjects.

That is one of the most important things parents need to understand about the current system.


What G1, G2 and G3 Mean

G1, G2 and G3 are subject levels.

Broadly, they correspond to different degrees of subject demand.

They evolved from the earlier N(T), N(A) and Express subject standards respectively, but Full SBB changes the structure by allowing students to combine different subject levels rather than belonging entirely to one old-style stream. (Google)

So a learner might have a profile in which one subject is taken at a more demanding level than another.

The system becomes more like:

CHILD
English → one level
Mathematics → one level
Science → one level
Mother Tongue → one level
other subjects → appropriate levels

rather than:

CHILD
ONE STREAM
EVERY SUBJECT FOLLOWS

That is a major conceptual shift.


Children Can Move Between Subject Levels

At the start of Secondary 1, eligible students whose indicative level for most subjects is G1 or G2 may be able to take English, Mother Tongue, Mathematics or Science at a more demanding level based on their PSLE subject performance.

Current 2026 Secondary 1 guidance, for example, shows opportunities to offer these subjects at more demanding levels when the relevant eligibility criteria are met. (Serangoon Garden Secondary School)

And progression continues to be reviewed later.

That means the route is not simply:

You entered here, therefore you stay here forever.

It is more flexible.

Strength can emerge.

Difficulty can emerge.

Subject levels can be adjusted at appropriate points.


Why This Matters Psychologically

A fixed label encourages a child to think:

I am weak.

A subject-specific model makes possible a more accurate statement:

I currently need a different learning level in this subject.

Those two sentences create very different futures.

The second one preserves movement.

Parents should preserve movement too.


Secondary 1: The World Gets Bigger

Secondary 1 is often a shock even for children who performed well at PSLE.

The number of teachers increases.

The number of subjects increases.

The amount of material increases.

Class schedules become more complicated.

CCA commitments grow.

Self-management matters more.

And many subjects become conceptually more abstract.

MOE’s own transition guidance emphasises that children are adapting not only academically but also socially, emotionally and developmentally. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

So if a child struggles during the first months of Secondary 1, the correct diagnosis is not automatically:

Their Primary school foundation was bad.

The transition itself imposes additional load.


Secondary 1 and 2: Broadening Before Specialising

Lower Secondary school has another important job.

The learner encounters a wider disciplinary world.

MOE notes that Secondary students begin encountering subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Geography and History, with more subject choices appearing as they progress. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

This period allows the learner to discover:

What kind of thinking am I good at?

What interests me?

Where do I struggle?

Which subjects should I eventually deepen?

This is not wasted time before upper-secondary examination preparation.

It is a discovery and differentiation phase.


Secondary 1 Is Also a Transition Buffer

Current Full SBB progression arrangements generally treat Lower Secondary as a two-year block, with Secondary 1 students progressing into Secondary 2 while they adapt to the new environment. (Xinmin Secondary School)

That is educationally sensible.

The child who was P6 only months ago is simultaneously learning:

new content,

new teachers,

new peers,

new schedules,

new responsibilities,

and a new developmental identity.

Parents should not interpret every early wobble as a permanent signal.

Look for the trend.


Secondary Mathematics Changes Its Nature

Primary Mathematics builds number, relationship, model selection and problem solving.

Secondary Mathematics increasingly becomes more abstract.

Algebra grows.

Relationships are expressed symbolically.

Graphs become more important.

Geometry becomes more formal.

The learner must increasingly operate on mathematical representations without always having a concrete object in front of them.

So the progression is not:

bigger numbers.

It is:

CONCRETE QUANTITY
RELATIONSHIP
REPRESENTATION
ABSTRACTION
GENERAL RELATIONSHIP
MATHEMATICAL CONTROL

This is why a child with strong Primary arithmetic can still struggle at Secondary Mathematics.

The operating language has changed.


Additional Mathematics Is a Branch, Not “Mathematics Level 4”

Another important parent distinction:

Additional Mathematics is not simply the next compulsory stage above G3 Mathematics.

It is an additional specialised mathematical subject.

Under the 2027 SEC syllabuses, SEAB lists Additional Mathematics at both G2 and G3, alongside Mathematics at the respective levels. (SEAB)

So think of it as:

MATHEMATICS
different subject levels
AND, where appropriate,
ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS
additional specialised route

not:

G1 → G2 → G3 → A-Math

That distinction prevents unnecessary status hierarchies.


Secondary English Changes Too

Secondary English is not simply Primary English with longer passages.

The learner increasingly deals with:

perspective,

argument,

audience,

purpose,

representation,

evidence,

tone,

assumptions,

and competing interpretations.

A mature English learner should increasingly be able to ask:

What is being claimed?

What evidence supports it?

What is implied?

Who is the intended reader?

How does the writer shape my attention?

Can another interpretation fit?

How should I communicate my own position?

That is a progression from language acquisition towards language as a tool for thought and judgement.


And This Is Where Character Matters Too

Education does not only increase capability.

It increases what a person is capable of doing with capability.

A child who becomes better at argument can use argument fairly or manipulatively.

A mathematically capable learner can model a problem accurately or selectively.

A scientifically capable learner can follow evidence or ignore inconvenient results.

So stronger education should also develop:

judgement,

responsibility,

proportionality,

self-correction,

awareness of consequence,

and willingness to revise a view when evidence changes.

This is one of the deepest lessons beneath the whole Voyage architecture:

Capability without judgement is incomplete education.

A more capable learner should also become a more careful user of capability.


Secondary Science Begins to Specialise

At Primary level, Science introduces learners to broad ideas such as:

Diversity,

Cycles,

Systems,

Energy,

and Interactions.

Secondary school increases disciplinary resolution.

Biology, Chemistry and Physics become more distinct.

In upper-secondary SEC pathways, SEAB’s 2027 G3 offerings include individual Physics, Chemistry and Biology as well as combined Science configurations, while G2 includes paired Science combinations. (SEAB)

This is a good example of why school becomes more specialised with age.

A younger learner first needs a broad map.

An older learner can enter deeper specialist tunnels.


Specialisation Should Not Destroy Connection

This is something parents should watch carefully.

As school progresses, subjects separate for good reasons.

Chemistry needs Chemistry.

History needs History.

Mathematics needs Mathematics.

English needs English.

Specialists go deep because different fields have different evidence, concepts and methods.

But an educated learner should also gradually become capable of moving between them.

Consider Water.

English might ask:

How is a water shortage described or argued about?

Science asks:

What physical and biological processes are involved?

Mathematics asks:

What quantities, rates and relationships describe the system?

Three specialists.

One world.

That collection principle is already built into The Voyage Series:

one underlying world → several legitimate projections.

The goal is not to collapse subjects.

It is to let children understand why several subjects exist.


Why Subjects Exist at All

Parents sometimes hear:

Everything is interdisciplinary now.

That can be misleading.

Subjects exist because the world can be interrogated in fundamentally different ways.

English asks:

What does this mean, and how can it be understood and communicated?

Mathematics asks:

What quantities, patterns, relationships and structures can be represented and transformed reliably?

Science asks:

How does the physical and living world behave, and what evidence supports the explanation?

The subjects overlap.

But they are not interchangeable.

Our full Voyage architecture preserves this distinction explicitly.

A parent therefore should not ask only:

Is my child good at school?

Ask:

Which kinds of thinking are becoming strong?

That is a much more informative question.


Secondary 2: An Important Decision Point

By the end of Secondary 2, subject choices and learning levels begin to matter more for upper Secondary.

This is where families can make a common mistake:

Choose whatever sounds most prestigious.

A better decision asks:

What can the learner sustain?

What genuinely interests them?

What future doors does this subject open?

What additional workload does it create?

What foundation does the child actually possess?

MOE’s current parent-facing direction similarly encourages students to choose subjects and electives according to interests and to look beyond academics alone. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

A route should have a reason for existing for this learner.

Not merely status.


More Subjects Is Not Automatically More Education

Suppose a learner takes an extremely demanding combination.

But:

sleep collapses,

understanding becomes shallow,

everything turns into memorisation,

and the child has no capacity left to think.

Has the extra subject load definitely increased educational value?

Not necessarily.

Educational load should produce useful capability.

If a route consumes large amounts of time while contributing little to the learner’s goals, it deserves re-examination.

The question is not:

Can we add one more thing?

It is:

What does this addition allow my child to do that matters?

That is a powerful rule for subject selection, enrichment and tuition alike.


Secondary 3 and 4: The System Narrows and Deepens

Upper Secondary is where the student’s route becomes more specialised.

Different schools offer different subject combinations.

Different learners may take subjects at different levels.

Academic demands rise.

Examination preparation becomes more explicit.

But the deeper movement is:

BROAD FOUNDATION
DISCOVER STRENGTHS
SELECT
SPECIALISE
BUILD DEPTH
DEMONSTRATE CAPABILITY
MOVE TO NEXT ROUTE

The child now needs not only to learn.

They increasingly need to make decisions about what kind of learner they are becoming.


G1/G2/G3 Still Belong to Subjects

This principle remains important all the way through Secondary school.

A learner may have a mixed profile.

And that is not an error in the system.

It is increasingly the point.

Full SBB gives students flexibility to customise their Secondary education according to strengths, interests and learning needs. (Education Conversations)

Parents should therefore become comfortable saying:

My child currently takes this subject at G2 and that one at G3.

without translating it into:

My child is a G2/G3 person.

The latter statement collapses the whole human being into one school coordinate.


What Happens at the End of Secondary School?

Singapore is currently in an important transition.

For students graduating under the new system, the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) begins in 2027, replacing the separate GCE N(T), N(A) and O-Level examinations. Students will sit their subjects at their respective G1, G2 or G3 levels and receive a single certificate showing the subjects and levels taken. (SEAB)

This means the certificate itself begins to reflect the more flexible subject-level structure.

Not:

one stream → one examination identity.

But:

a portfolio of subjects taken at different levels.


A Date Parents Should Know: 2027

Because this guide is being written in August 2026, families should understand the transition clearly.

The new common SEC examination begins in 2027. (SEAB)

The current 2026 graduating cohort is therefore still part of the preceding examination arrangements where applicable.

From 2027, graduating students under Full SBB sit the common SEC examination timetable at their respective subject levels. (MOE Singapore)

That date matters because older siblings and younger siblings may appear to be going through differently named systems.

They are.

The system itself is changing.


SEC Does Not Mean Every Student Takes the Same Examination

“Common certificate” does not mean:

everybody takes identical papers at identical levels.

Students sit subjects at the relevant G1, G2 or G3 level.

SEAB states that the SEC certificate reflects both the subjects taken and the corresponding subject levels. (SEAB)

So the common framework preserves differentiated subject demand.


What Comes After Secondary School?

Secondary school is another junction, not a final destination.

Depending on achievement, interests, subject combinations and admission criteria, post-secondary routes include:

  • Junior Colleges,
  • Millennia Institute,
  • Polytechnics,
  • the Institute of Technical Education,
  • and other specialised or programme-specific routes.

MOE continues to describe JC/MI, polytechnics and ITE as major post-secondary pathways with different forms of learning and progression. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

The correct route depends on the learner.

There is no educational law saying that every capable human being must travel through the same institution in the same order.


Another Date Parents Should Know: 2028

From 2028, following the first SEC examination cohort, MOE will introduce a new Post-Secondary Admissions Exercise (PSE) covering applications to post-secondary pathways including JC, MI, polytechnics and ITE. (MOE Singapore)

So the system is moving towards a more integrated admissions architecture after the common SEC.

Again, this reinforces the same larger principle:

The education system is becoming less like a collection of permanently separated tracks and more like a network of differentiated routes.


What About the Integrated Programme?

Some students attend schools offering the Integrated Programme.

The IP is a different route that typically runs as a six-year programme towards qualifications such as the A-Level, International Baccalaureate Diploma or NUS High School Diploma without requiring the traditional O-Level examination at Secondary 4. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

For a parent guide, the simplest way to understand it is:

Different route.

Not a different species of child.


School Is a Routing System — But the Child Is the Traveller

This is perhaps the most useful parent mental model.

The Singapore education system contains:

schools,

levels,

subjects,

subject levels,

teachers,

examinations,

certificates,

and onward pathways.

These are routes and structures.

Your child is not one of those structures.

Your child is the traveller moving through them.

Therefore:

ROUTE
IDENTITY

A difficult year is not a permanent identity.

A Foundation subject is not a permanent identity.

A Posting Group is not a permanent identity.

A G2 subject is not a permanent identity.

An AL is not a permanent identity.

A school is not a permanent identity.

They are coordinates describing where learning is currently taking place.


What Parents Should Actually Monitor

There are five things more useful than staring at one aggregate score.

1. Understanding

Does the child actually understand the concept?

Or can they only reproduce a familiar procedure?

2. Execution

Can they perform reliably?

Or does knowledge disappear under time pressure?

3. Transfer

Can they use the idea when the question looks different?

4. Independence

Can they begin the task without somebody sitting beside them?

5. Recovery

When they are wrong, can they understand the error and improve the model?

These tell you much more about future learning than:

They scored 78 this time.


A Mark Is a Signal, Not a Diagnosis

Suppose your child scores poorly in Mathematics.

The cause might be:

weak concept,

weak algebra,

carelessness,

slow processing,

poor reading,

incomplete method knowledge,

insufficient practice,

time-management failure,

or anxiety under assessment.

One number cannot tell you which.

Similarly, a weak English result could come from:

vocabulary,

inference,

grammar,

reading accuracy,

composition organisation,

or inability to express an understood idea.

Science may fail because of:

concept gaps,

process language,

weak evidence control,

incorrect causal reasoning,

or OEQ answering technique.

The useful question is:

Where did the capability chain break?


Parent Support Should Match the Failure

If the problem is concept:

reteach.

If the problem is retrieval:

practise recalling.

If the problem is execution:

build fluency.

If the problem is transfer:

change the surface of the problems.

If the problem is careless checking:

install a checking routine.

If the problem is overload:

reduce and sequence the task.

If the child does not understand the question:

repair language and interpretation.

“Work harder” is rarely a sufficiently precise diagnosis.

But tuition should not become a second school timetable simply because more hours feel safer.

Ask:

What problem is this tuition solving?

Then later:

Did that problem improve?

This is a better test than:

Everybody else has tuition.

The Same Rule Applies to Enrichment

More classes are not automatically more development.

An enrichment activity can be extremely valuable if it develops:

technical skill,

CCAs Are Not Outside Education

MOE explicitly encourages students to participate in sports, clubs, games and other CCAs as part of discovering interests, developing relationships and contributing to school life. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

A CCA can develop things an examination does not directly measure:

teamwork,

leadership,

discipline,

performance under pressure,

identity,

belonging,

responsibility,

craft,

and resilience.

Those are educational outcomes too.


Why Belonging Matters

A child cannot be understood as a score-processing machine.

MOE’s Secondary transition guidance notes that students tend to do better when they have a sense of belonging, purpose and progress, opportunities to contribute, interests to pursue and teachers able to support their needs. (Ministry of Education Singapore)

Does my child feel that they have a place in school?

Marks Matter — But They Are Not the Whole Reason School Exists

Marks perform important functions.

They give signals.

They support certification and placement.
