The conclusion expands beyond the evidence. Repair by narrowing the scope: “Some interviewed students disliked the new timetable.”

“My friend improved after joining debate, so debate makes students confident.”
The example can illustrate a possible mechanism. It cannot establish a universal effect. A safer conclusion is that debate can build confidence for some students, especially when repeated speaking practice and supportive feedback are present.

“Attendance improved after the new app launched, so the app caused the improvement.”
Timing alone does not establish cause. Other changes may have occurred. The evidence may support a hypothesis, not certainty.
