Series ID: EDKS-BASIC-ZH-0044 · Lesson No.044 · A2 Consolidation and Independence
A2 Review and Independent English | A2 复习与独立英语
Independent English does not mean knowing everything. It means knowing how to continue when you do not know everything.
独立英语不是“什么都会”,而是“遇到不会的,也知道怎样继续”。
By this point, you have moved beyond survival phrases. You can compare, explain, advise, tell past stories, discuss experiences, read connected texts and write paragraphs. The next goal is not endless new material. It is stability, transfer and independence.
这一课把前四十三课重新压缩成一套独立使用系统:能听、能说、能读、能写、能修复、能判断自己的卡点,并能自己决定下一步学什么。

Mei used to translate almost every English sentence before she answered. This helped her understand difficult grammar, but it also made speaking slow. Over several months, she changed her routine. She began listening once before reading a transcript, writing short English definitions for familiar words, and answering simple questions without translating first. She still uses Chinese when a concept is difficult, but she no longer needs it for every sentence. As a result, her responses are faster and she feels more comfortable when conversations change unexpectedly.

- What problem did it cause?
- What three changes did she make?
- Does she completely stop using Chinese?
- What result does she notice?
