Atrina was offered in a March 2004 BTO exercise beside Buangkok MRT station. The interesting historical detail is that the station was not yet serving passengers at the time of the contemporary launch coverage.
A reproduced HDB announcement dated 22 March described 760 four-room premium apartments and an application period from 23 March to 12 April 2004. A newspaper report dated 25 March also used the 760-flat figure.
Later project indexes use different totals. This article keeps the contemporary sales figure attached to its original source rather than presenting all numbers as if they count exactly the same thing.

The launch announcement placed Atrina at Compassvale Link, next to Buangkok station. It directed prospective buyers to a physical exhibition, brochures and electronic information channels.
Those channels are a reminder that families can encounter the same housing offer in different formats. A model helps someone picture a place, while a dated written notice preserves the terms being advertised.
The announcement is preserved in a forum reproduction, not on an official archive page consulted for this article. That distinction matters when assessing the source, even though its wording identifies it as an HDB notice.
Dates in that notice describe a past application exercise. They are not an invitation to apply now.
The 25 March newspaper account described Atrina beside the unopened Buangkok MRT station. It connected interest in surrounding housing with discussion about the station’s eventual opening.
That makes Atrina’s early story more interesting than a simple “near MRT” label. A transport structure can exist before passengers can use it, and a neighbourhood may develop while its connections are still changing.
Do not read a historical advertisement through today’s journey planner. What a family could see nearby and what it could actually board were different questions.
A useful enquiry for students is how transport and housing influence one another. The report provides a dated example of that discussion, but does not by itself prove that one development caused a particular transport decision.
The contemporary announcement and report describe 760 flats. Housing Map’s later index lists Atrina 1 with 424 and Atrina 2 with 366, which sum to 790.
The numerical difference is 790 − 760 = 30. That calculation identifies a discrepancy; it does not explain it.
Without a supporting record, we should not assume the difference arose from redesign, extra construction, rental provision or a typographical mistake. Any of those would be another claim requiring evidence.
For a school project, write two labelled statements: “The contemporary sales account described 760 flats” and “The later index totals 790 across two entries.” Keeping both labels is more useful than choosing a number without explanation.
This is a practical research habit: when records disagree, preserve the source, date and scope before trying to reconcile them.
Use a current map to find Atrina and plan a route suitable for your family. Stay in permitted shared areas and respect residents’ privacy.
Look for one connection between housing and movement, such as a path or a directional sign. Describe only what you can actually observe on the day.
Then compare that observation with the 2004 report’s station context. A good question is: how does access shape the way a family imagines everyday life here?
Keep imagined answers separate from interviews or documented facts. Your child can suggest that a convenient journey might help a routine, without claiming to know why any real household chose Atrina.
