Greenearth Consultants lists a 2015 Singapore Institute of Landscape Architects Merit Award for Compassvale Ancilla Park. BCA’s 2015 awards publication lists the park under Green Mark Certified, with HDB as developer.

These are separate records, not two names for the same award. Neither is presented here as the park’s opening date, and a historical certification should not be assumed to remain current indefinitely.

2. A park in a wider neighbourhood

URA’s account of the Sengkang Central development describes the intention to extend the experience of nearby Compassvale Ancilla Park through additional public green space.

Our interpretation is that the park’s story is also about connections. A green space can be considered on its own, but it can also influence how a neighbouring development is planned. That is a different question from whether two places share an operator.

3. A simple park-reading activity

During a planned outing, notice how paths, planting and places to pause work together. Ask which feature helps you understand where to go, and which makes you want to stay. Children and adults may give quite different answers.

Check current access signs and maintenance notices, and treat planted areas respectfully. Use the historical awards as conversation starters, not as a score for today’s conditions. The most useful observation is often a small, concrete detail rather than a general verdict about the whole park.
