Punggol Waterway Park from Sengkang: Bridges, Family Walks and Getting There

Punggol Waterway Park is a nearby option when a Sengkang afternoon needs a change of scenery. Rather than trying to see every stretch, choose a bridge or a section of the waterway and build a comfortable walk around it.

The park is along Sentul Crescent in Punggol. It is not Punggol Park in Hougang, so check the full destination name before planning transport or arranging to meet friends.

A good first visit needs only three decisions: where to arrive, what you would like to see, and where the walk will finish.

Choose an arrival point that fits the walk

NParks lists Punggol MRT and Damai LRT as nearby stations. Check a current journey planner from your actual Sengkang starting point, including the final walking leg to your chosen section.

If you drive, NParks lists two paid carparks along Sentul Crescent. Choose the one that fits your plan, and allow for it being full. A park listing is not a parking reservation.

Send companions a meeting pin rather than simply saying “the waterway”. Agree on the same side of the water and an identifiable meeting place before everyone sets off.

Pick one bridge or themed area

The park has four themed areas: Nature Cove, Recreation Zone, Heritage Zone and Green Gallery. Use those names on the official information page to choose a part that interests your group rather than treating the entire park as a checklist.

NParks highlights Jewel Bridge and Kelong Bridge among its features. Kelong Bridge’s design recalls an offshore fishing platform. You might choose it as a destination and ask children which parts of its shape catch their eye.

For a photo walk, give yourself one simple challenge: photograph the same scene from two permitted viewpoints. Discuss what changes in the picture without stepping into planting or blocking the path.

Keep the outing comfortable

NParks lists the park as open 24 hours, wheelchair accessible and elderly friendly. For a first visit, daylight and a clearly checked entrance make it easier to get your bearings.

Choose a turning point before the group becomes tired. An out-and-back walk lets you return by a familiar route, while a one-way walk needs a separately checked exit and transport plan.

Bring water and whatever your family normally needs for a short outdoor trip. If children want to ride, agree on stopping points first and keep the moving part of the outing separate from looking, sketching and taking photographs.

Leave something for next time

Fishing is not allowed in Punggol Waterway Park. Enjoy the waterway from the visitor paths and keep your visit focused on walking and observing rather than water activities.

Before adding a second destination, check the remaining distance and the journey home. A comfortable hour around one section can be more enjoyable than a long afternoon spent trying to reach every bridge.

For a different nearby setting, compare our Punggol Park guide. Choosing the right park for today matters more than choosing the longest route.
